Conference Update – Downlink Issue 10
U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. David D. Thompson, Vice Commander of Air Force Space Command will be our SATELLITE 2017 Government & Military Keynote Speaker, appearing on Wednesday, March 8 at 1:45 p.m. in room 207. General Thompson assists in organizing, training, equipping, and maintaining mission-ready space and cyberspace forces and providing missile warning, positioning, navigation and timing, communications and cyber capabilities for North American Aerospace Defense Command, U.S. Strategic Command and the other functional and geographic combatant commands. General Thompson also directs and coordinates the activities of the headquarters staff. The SATELLITE 2017 Government & Military Forum runs Monday, March 6 through Wednesday, March 8 and is produced in partnership with the Satellite Industry Association (SIA) and Defense Daily.
Agostinho Linhares, Manager of Spectrum, Orbit and Broadcasting for Anatel will join Éric Fournier, Director of Spectrum Planning and International Affairs for Agence Nationale des Fréquences (ANFR), Kalpak Gude, President of Dynamic Spectrum Alliance, Dr. Veena Rawat, Senior Spectrum Advisor for Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA) and Zachary Rosenbaum, Director of Spectrum for O3b Networks as speakers on the session, titled “The Impact of Spectrum Frontiers on Future Connectivity.” The session is part of our 5G Forum produced in partnership with the EMEA Satellite Operators Association (ESOA) and will take place on Tuesday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m. in room 206.
Clyde Space CEO Craig Clark will join Carolyn Belle’s (NSR) Finance Forum panel titled “Smallsats – Will They Generate Large Returns?” on Monday, March 6 at 2:45 p.m. Carolyn’s impressive panel also includes Chris Boshuizen, Data Collective, Jason Andrews, Spaceflight Industries, and Chad Anderson, Space Angels Network. The session will address the ins and outs of small sat business models, ultimately exploring whether such ventures can generate large returns or will be constrained to revenues that reflect the size of the satellites themselves.
