The following are just a handful of the keynote presenters we’ve confirmed early on and we’ll be announcing more in the months to come. NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Deputy Program Manager Benjamin Reed will present a keynote directed to satellite manufacturers and operators titled “Should You Make Your Satellite Serviceable?” which will outline what steps owners and operators can take to prepare their fleets for servicing calls and ensure that the industry is fully prepared to reap the benefits of a servicing-enabled paradigm.
Robbie Schingler, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Planet (formerly Planet Labs) will present “A Global Sensing Revolution” Schingler will share his view of a new technological revolution happening in space – where satellites cover the surface of the Earth, and the skies and space above it, with sensors: mobile phones, drones and other devices. His discussion will explore advanced applications of daily earth-imaging and the global sensing revolution in both commercial and humanitarian sectors.
Joe Rothenberg, Director of Innovation for Google’s Terra Bella company will join SSTL U.S. CEO John Paffett and a special guest from the U.S. Department of Commerce for a keynote presentation titled “Innovation Driving Commerce.” Rothenberg and Paffett will instruct attendees about the next wave of innovations that will revolutionize how the world commoditizes space.
Kay Sears, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Lockheed Market Space Systems teams up with Aeroject Rocketdyne Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development Jim Simpson for an executive-level workshop presentation titled “Closing the Business Case, ” which willreveal the major space sector innovations that are attracting investors looking to develop new billion-dollar markets in the long- and short-term.
Mike Lawton, Founder & CEO of Oxford Space Systems, will explore the “Collaborative and/or Competitive Roles of Disruptive Companies in Commercial Space Development” in a keynote that focuses on the impact of the new wave of space entrants into the market, as well as the pros and cons of increased competition for the end-user customer.
