Conference Update – Downlink Issue 3

We have some very exciting news to share about our SATELLITE 2017 General session program! Here’s a sneak peek at the first confirmed speakers.  These sessions are included with your SATELLITE All Access Pass – register today before the Early Bird deadline expires!

Stuart Daughtridge, Vice President Advanced Technology, Kratos and Marco Brancati, CTO, Telespazio will be joining our Monday Morning General Session “Satellite CTO and Tech Leaders: Ground Segment Focus” on Monday, March 6 at 8:30 a.m. Stuart, Marco and technical leaders from the largest ground segment companies discuss the future which begins with the end user and how to reach the large worldwide untapped users so they can receive low cost services from the new constellations and legacy systems. This session is open to all conference attendees.

SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell, Arianespace CEO Stéphane Israël and ILS President Kirk Pysher have confirmed that they will speak during our Monday Afternoon Closing session, “Leading the Charge for Launch Service Providers” on Monday, March 6 at 4:30 p.m., open to all conference attendees. This panel will discuss topics such as launch technology and new vehicles, how satellites are changing, commercial space travel, launch availability and flexibility, space exploration, international cooperation and political challenges. More speakers will be announced soon.

We have two satellite operator CEO panels at SATELLITE 2017. The first is our annual Global Satellite Operator CEO opening general session (open to all attendees) and we are thrilled to confirm our line-up of speakers. This year’s Tuesday opening general session panel will include Intelsat CEO Stephen Spengler,   Inmarsat CEO Rupert Pearce, Telesat CEO Dan Goldberg, Eutelsat CEO Rodolphe Belmer and ViaSat CEO Mark Dankberg. One of the longest-standing traditions in the SATELLITE show’s 35+ year history, the Tuesday morning opening general session puts CEOs from satellite operators working on a global scale to set the course of the week’s discussions about commercial industry development.

Finally, we have a second satellite operator CEO panel that afternoon, which gathers the CEOs from global operators for a region-specific discussion. Arabsat CEO Khalid Balkheyour, Yahsat CEO Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, OneWeb CEO Eric Beranger and Hispasat CEO Carlos Espinós will join the Tuesday afternoon general session, “International Satellite Operator CEOs – Regional Focus, ” on Tuesday, March 7 at 4:30 p.m. A brand new addition to the SATELLITE 2017, this is the second part of the satellite operator CEO program that includes executives focused on developing connectivity in specific regions of the world. The discussion will discuss how regional strategies and demand are connected between those regions, leading to a new global footprint.

The second part of our general session program update will come in our next addition of Downlink, along with updates for our new Innovation Forum Keynote Series!

Thanks for the best SATELLITE yet!
