More Conference Updates!

Newtec CEO Serge Van Herck and Yahsat Chief Strategy Officer Amit Somani have confirmed to speak during the session “Delivering Critical Mass through Standardization” on Tuesday, March 7 at 1:45 p.m. The session aims to discuss if standardization could help lower the cost of terminals in a market where bandwidth prices are decreasing – similar to what GSM has done for cellular telephony.

Paul Febvre, Chief Technical Officer of Satellite Applications Catapult and Thuraya VP of Business Development Jassem Nasser will speak during the session “IoT (Internet-of-Things) & the Uber-Connected Society” on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. The Internet of Things remains a very popular discussion at the SATELLITE conference in 2017. This session, which is part of our new 5G Forum being produced in partnership with the EMEA Satellite Operators Association (ESOA), will focus on how satellites can serve as a key enabler of IoT and offer strategic advantages over terrestrial in various geographies and applications. Key applications would include connecting remote assets, mobility services (such as connected cars), as well as augmenting and backhauling terrestrial capacity where needed.

Carissa Christensen, Managing Partner of The Tauri Group, will join PlanetIQ Founder and CEO Chris McCormick and NovaWurks Chief Technologist Talbot Jaeger for a presentation titled “How Have Emerging Space Markets Changed the Supply Chain?” on Wednesday, March 8 at 11:30 a.m. The presentation is part of our Innovation Forum and will educate attendees on what the “traditional” space industry supply chain looks like and how the “New Space” has impacted the traditional supply chain.

Thanks for the best SATELLITE yet!
